Slow but steady

Today’s milestones included a walk down the hallway, removal of the IV that was delivering Milrinone to help her heart, and removal of the supplemental oxygen tube; love seeing her being released from almost all of the beeping machinery. And she asked for, and got, her first cappuccino post-surgery.

No blog post yesterday evening because Jane & I watched part of the Tony awards with Conk and got home past our bedtime.

  1. Hi, this is Linda Lawrence, a friend from Atahi summers. Haven’t seen Kathy in ages but have enjoyed catching up via FB in recent years. I live nearby on Long Island. If Kathy is still in the hospital on Saturday and you think a visit wouldn’t disrupt things, I’d love to stop by for a quick hello if she’s up to it. My email is LLawrence86@gmail.com or you could text me at 516-627-1074. Let me know?

  2. Bless her coffee-lovin’ soul & determination of spirit. She’s gonna be back running in no time at all! Please give her a comfortable hug & tell her, “You GO, gurl!” And thanks so much for your Conk vigilance & blog updates. You GO, too!

  4. Hi again ~
Please don’t mention to Conk but I’ve sent a small arrangement of daisies (now that she’s out of ICU where flowers weren’t allowed). They’re due to arrive Weds. 6/12 betw. 9-5. Please keep an eye out for them. Sent to Milstein Hosp., 7-GN North, 177 Ft. Washington Ave., NY, NY 10032. Nurse on phone said staff would assure they’d find their way to her room, wherever she is at that point! Thanks for the secret collaboration! Hope they bring a smidge of cheer.

  5. I might have suggested retaining at least one IV so they could mainline the cappuccinos. πŸ˜‹β˜•οΈπŸ‘©πŸΌβ€βš•οΈπŸ‘πŸ» Oh well. So glad to know that Kathy is making such good progress!
