Moving on up

Conk has graduated to the step-down unit!! Shedding more IVs and monitors along the way. The central line was removed this morning; the last one to go was an arterial line that continuously monitored her blood pressure.

She’s still on oxygen and pacemaker assist, but all her vitals are good, she’s much more alert, and she’s no longer complimenting the hospital food. She’s really on her way back.

  1. Such good news! particularly about the hospital food. Discretion is an important part of recovery. When she can discern the difference between a shelf Manhattan and the real thing, we will know she is out of danger! Give her a hug and let her watch HRC and MKA who spoke today at Reunion of the 4s and 9s.

  2. Peg, Thanks so much for your daily updates. I look forward to reading each day how Kathy is mending. Happy to hear that she’s in a step down unit. I guess food is good only that first day when you haven’t eaten in a while. You all take care! Nancy

  3. Thought of Kathy today as all her artwork with Father Guido reached reincarnation with the Class of ‘74 and was widely admired. So glad she is doing so well!

  5. Fan-TAS-tic! Couldn’t be a better report! Thank God! It’s particularly consoling to hear that she’s again able to size up hospital food correctly! A full recovery seems just around the corner! BRAVA Conk!
