Good news at the end of a long day!

Dr. Smith says the valve procedures (2 replaced, 1 repaired) went very well. The more difficult part was stopping the bleeding – even though Conk went off blood thinners 5 days ago, her blood was still thin. But all’s well and we should be able to visit her in the ICU in about an hour.

  6. Oh PHEW! What fan-TAS-tic news, both in terms of the surgery itself & that they were able quell the bleeding! Thank you both for surviving the long haul day you’ve had, enough to send us the happy happy news. Give her a pat on the knee (shouldn’t be too disruptive!) & tell how proud we all are of her for her bravery & resilience. She’s gonna be breathing easy again very soon! Yaaaaaaaay! Love to you all!
